I'm trying to go through menus, I use the up/down, but what I select? is it space? just doesn't seem to enable stuff etc?

virtualc64 is constantly crashing and I don't have a clue why. I have the roms all loadeda and it says it's ok. Yet when I try to run a d64 or anything else it just stutters and dies. Please help
